As we celebrate International Women’s Day 2026, it feels like the perfect moment to pause, reflect and acknowledge the incredible progress our Women in Tech community made throughout 2025. This year’s theme, Give to Gain, reminds us that when we invest in others, we build stronger, more empowered communities. That spirit has been at the heart of everything we have worked on, shaped and achieved together.
Looking back at 2025: A year of growth, visibility and impact
2025 was a defining year for 5Y Women in Tech. We formalised our WIT committee, with eight women volunteering to come together to deliver our 2025 plan. Their commitment created real momentum, strengthened our community and enabled us to drive forward meaningful initiatives throughout the year.
Raising our profile on the global stage
Our members represented 5Y at International Women’s Day in Amman, engaging in conversations on wellbeing, the future of work, AI, career development and personal branding. They also attended Redefine Possible – International Women’s Day (Amman), which explored wellbeing, AI and the future of work, career growth and personal branding.
Inspiring the next generation
We launched a new wave of university outreach across Jordan through workshops, talks and job fair participation, helping young women see what is possible in technology. fair participation, helping young women see what is possible in technology.
Supporting women’s professional and personal growth
We delivered a wide range of training and awareness programmes, including:
• AI Ethics, exploring gender bias and responsible AI.
• Imposter Syndrome training, helping women build confidence and self-advocacy.
• Menopause awareness, which led to the creation of a new policy and a Menopause Advocate role.
• Breast cancer awareness and a full Women’s Health Month dedicated to education, early detection and wellbeing.
Building confidence through community and leadership
We hosted powerful leadership sessions with speakers such as Ruba Darwish and Bassant Sarhan, giving our team direct access to inspiring voices and real-world experiences.
Strengthening our identity and reach
From launching our new WIT logo to expanding our LinkedIn presence and invigorating our internal storytelling, we made big strides in how our community is seen and celebrated both inside and outside 5Y.
Expanding through partnership
Our collaboration with Elevate brought new opportunities for mentoring, networking and leadership development, and several Women in Tech members benefited through the ElevateHER programme and our feature on the Elevate podcast. As a result of this partnership two of our WIT members have now joined the Elevate mentorship programme.
All of these achievements represent not just activity but progress, impact and momentum.
Looking ahead: A first glimpse at our 2026 plan
International Women’s Day marks the start of our next chapter. The full Women in Tech 2026 plan will be shared soon, but we can share some early signals of what to expect.
We will continue to focus on representation, allyship, education, collaboration and community, building on the foundations we strengthened in 2025. We will also expand opportunities for women inside and outside 5Y, to access the knowledge, skills and support they need to thrive in technology.
Introducing one of our 2026 initiatives: Career Conversations
As part of the Give to Gain mindset, and to support emerging female talent, we are launching Career Conversations, a simple, meaningful way to give guidance and insight to young women who want to enter or progress in the tech sector.
Career Conversations offers three short, focused 30-minute sessions with women across 5Y. These sessions will cover career pathways, confidence, navigating the tech landscape and practical advice for getting started.
Call to action
If you know someone who would benefit from Career Conversations, or if you would like to take part yourself, please email the WIT team at wit@5ytechnology.com and we will be in touch with the next steps.
More to come
Our achievements in 2025 have given us a strong platform to build from and 2026 is set to be our most ambitious year yet. We are excited to share more of our plans in the coming weeks as we continue to support, empower and elevate women across 5Y and beyond.
